About JAJA

JAJA (Japanese-Americans, Japanese in America) is a grassroots community of people of Japanese ancestry living in the New York City area interested in sharing experiences of living in America and creating and fulfilling personal and career projects and goals that express our Nikkei experiences, heritage and history.  JAJA was founded in 2004 by Stann Nakazono, Donna Tsufura and Jennifer Takaki and now has over 300 members from diverse backgrounds and professions. Our group meets once a month, often in a home setting. It is a potluck gathering usually with a special speaker or performance presentation followed by a community discussion. JAJA offers the opportunity to network and make new friends, and reconnect to Japan and our cultural heritage.
